A space for all

Built in 1865, as the home of the Branwell family. Penlee House is home to many paintings by members of the Newlyn School. It is also home to the Penzance Natural History and Antiquarian Society collection.

The original Chapel was built at Dorglass Stile. By 1830 there was a revivial in Methodism which meant it was too small. A new Chapel was built elsewhere. In 1979 a severe storm so badly damaged the chapel that it was closed immediately and services were held in the parish church. This is a picture of the second chapel. In April 1981 a new foundation stone for a new Chapel was laid. The two large windows are a feature of the present chapel.
