A space for all

Built in 1865, as the home of the Branwell family. Penlee House is home to many paintings by members of the Newlyn School. It is also home to the Penzance Natural History and Antiquarian Society collection.

Penlee House receives funding from Arts Council England. This funding is used to support public engagement projects.

Penlee House has gratefully received support to extend and make accessible its collections from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (formerly Heritage Lottery Fund), Art Fund, the ACE/V&A Purchase Grant scheme and the Friends of Penlee House.

The Friends of Penlee House support the Gallery’s education and exhibition programmes, as well as supporting acquisitions.

You can support Penlee House by joining or making a donation to the Friends of Penlee House. All admission charges help to fund our running costs, collections care and educational programmes. All purchases in the Orangery Café and in our shop help to support the gallery too!
