A space for all

Built in 1865, as the home of the Branwell family. Penlee House is home to many paintings by members of the Newlyn School. It is also home to the Penzance Natural History and Antiquarian Society collection.

Black and white/sepia postcard

The Promenade, Penzance on a sunny day with a row of flower tubs arranged in front of the Alexandra Gardens on the left. I would place this picture before the re-building of the promenade following the 1962 storm The road looks freshly tarmacced with no road markings. In 2012 the zebra crossing has been moved away from the junction and the central feature and the road sign have been removed.
