Description: Photograph postcard of a painting by Leonard Richmond of the Boer War Memorial in Morrab Gardens, Penzance. On the reverse a link with G.W.R is mentioned. The statue was erected in 1904 to remember men from West Penwith who had lost their lives in the South African campaign. Morrab House and Gardens were created by brewer Samuel Pidwell in 1841, then owned by Charles Campbell Ross, MP. The house and gardens were purchased by Penzance Corporation for use as public park 1880s.
