A space for all

Built in 1865, as the home of the Branwell family. Penlee House is home to many paintings by members of the Newlyn School. It is also home to the Penzance Natural History and Antiquarian Society collection.

Penlee House Gallery & Museum and The Orangery Cafe are now open 7 days a week until 28 September! 

We will be open on the following Bank Holidays in 2025:

During an exhibition rehangs, it is necessary to close some of the galleries. Please check what is open before making a special journey at these times.

In 2025, the exhibition rehang periods will be:

5 – 15 October 2025

Accompanying Carers Free

During rehang periods, admission prices are half price.

All registered students qualify for the £4 ticket (and half price during rehang) on production of valid Student ID.

No booking required.


Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome in the building on leads. Dogs are welcome on leads within the park and on the terrace outside the café. However, please note that dogs are not allowed inside the building.


Penzance Pass

The Penzance Pass enables free entry all year round to Penlee House Gallery & Museum for everyone who lives within the Penzance Parish. Residents of Penzance, Gulval, Heamoor, Mousehole, Newlyn and Paul can get a Pass, by coming in to Penlee House Gallery & Museum in Penzance with proof of address and a card can be issued straight away. We offer free entry to Friends of Penlee House, Penzance Pass, The Art Fund, Museums Association, Cornwall Volunteers Scheme.
