Identification
Item: Steamer Day, St Agnes, Isles of Scilly.
Description: A postcard with the printed script "Steamer Day. St Agnes. Scilly. No 711" in the bottom left hand corner. The inter island launch 'Nor Nor', is in the centre of the image and farmers are waiting for the supplies that are being handed from the boat. Named after one of the Eastern Islands, NorNour, but always called 'NorNor', this image probably dates from c.1945-48. The 'Nor Nor' was an ex First World War 'Trot boat' stationed at St Mary's during the War and bought in 1931. She was replaced by the 'Kittern' in 1949 and scrapped in 1950.
