Item: Pelistry, St Mary's, Isles of Scilly.
Description: A postcard of the bay at Pelistry, showing the printed script of "Pelistry, St Mary's. Scilly. No.320" in the left hand corner. Pelistry was a small farming community on the east coast of St Mary's. In 1650, it was recorded as Porthlistrye meaning a cove for ships. Gibson in "Sunny Lyonesse" records three kinds of ferns here with 'sea rushes that bind the sand'.
