Item: Landing at St Martin's, Isles of Scilly.
Description: A postcard titled "D45 Landing at St. Martin's. Scilly." This is the inter-island steam launch 'Gugh' alongside the quay at St Martin's with unidentified people and a dog presumably waiting to board, possibly taken pre 1927. Built as a steam launch, named 'Dart' by Philip & Son of Dartmouth, in 1910, this boat was not registered as a British vessel, until she was purchased by the Isles of Scilly Steamship Co. Ltd, in 1923 and re-named 'Gugh'. In 1927, she was converted to a motor vessel, fitted with a diesel engine.
