Item: Roman Inscribed Stone, St Materiana's Church, Tintagel, Cornwall.
Description: The first church here probably dates to the 6th century and identified with Madryn, Princess of Gwent. This Roman stone is in the south transept of the present Norman church, where a stone bench runs around the walls. The Roman inscribed stone is 4th century and was found built into the western gateway of the churchyard in 1889.
