Item: Carwynnen Cromlech, near Camborne, Cornwall.
Description: Also known as 'The Giants Quoit' or 'Pendarves Cromlech' and the 'Devil's Frying Pan', Carwynnen Quoit dates from the Neolithic Period. Its location is in countryside on a back lane between Praze-an-Beeble and Troon, just on the edge of Pendarves Woods, in a field known as "Pip's Field" and a modern memorial stone is there dedicated to Pip Richards. The photograph dates sometime between 1842 and 1967, when it collapsed for a second time.
