Identification
Item: Anglo-Saxon Cross, Gulval Churchyard.
Description: To the left of the Church porch stands the base of an early Anglo-Saxon Cross which was found embedded in the East all when a new East window was installed in 1895. Cemented on top is a broken fragment of a late medieval lantern cross head, the adjacent cross shaft of the same period appears to have been erected upside down, owing to the chamfering at the top of the granite window also found at the same time, being in too poor a condition to be used again.
