Item: South Entrance to Gulval Church
Description: The south entrance porch of Gulval Church was built in the late 1890s when the churchyard was extended. This photograph was taken prior to 1913, as the four face clock is not in this image (and was installed in 1913). The clock was installed in memory or Parson Wingfield who had been vicar of Gulval for 73 years (1839-1912). Before the churchyard extension, there were several thatched cottages which were demolished in the early 1800s.
