Description: This photograph shows the location of the (cider) press components: the roller or wheel; the iron spindle; the trough or base which would have had a drain hole; and the pole (outside of the trough) which was attached to the pony for pulling. The story of Trewinnard Manor is the subject of a book by Stephen Tyrrell and shows a picture of this press and the location of the three orchards. See also 2016.50.636 and 2009.456.
