Item: Lamorna Cove, Cornwall.
Description: A photograph of Lamorna Cove, showing from left to right: the Old Blacksmiths Shop; the Pier (which was washed away in 1911); the Stone Loading Gantry; Granite Quarry Count House; Magazine; Five cottages built in 1880 and the Water Wheel & Launder. This image was taken between 1880 and 1911 when the pier was washed away. It was rebuilt several times and lastly in 1950s by Councillor John Daniel who also built the cafe with much of the stone taken from the Count House - the foundations of which are still in place. All of the Cove and Buildings are now owned by Mr Stephenson from Liverpool who kindly passed on his knowledge of Lamorna.
