Identification
Item: Porthminster Beach & St Ives from Porthminster Point, probably taken on a Monday as washing is drying on the Island.
Description: A view of Porthminster Beach showing: Seine boats and bathing machines; St Ives Station & Goods shed; Pednolva Point and engine house; St Nicholas Chapel on the Island is absent. It was demolished in 1904 and rebuilt by Sir Edward Hain in 1911. The Mariners Church (which is in view) was built in 1905, dating the photograph to between 1905 and 1911.
