Item: Alverton Street, Penzance, from the corner of Clarence Street looking towards the Lloyd's dome.
Description: Taken before the crossroads at Clarence Street and Morrab Road were added, the buildings in view on the left are Alfred Smith Furnishers & Upholsterers, the Western Hotel, Champions Potato store, the Preston (photographers) Family Home, the house which boasted the first carpet in Penzance and the Lloyd's dome and market house. On the right, the barber's pole is in view but not the name of the shop, the site of Fox's Nurseries which was built on in 1900 and the Public Boot Company. An unidentified man is also in view outside of the Western Hotel.
