Item: Mounts Bay Fishing Boats.
Description: Mackerel boats sailing and rowing out of Mounts Bay towing their punts. The boat to the left is 68PZ 'Nyanza'. 47.7ft long. 19 tons. Owner Thomas Wills of Newlyn 1877-1898. Skipper Joseph Tonkin. 1898 stranded on the Isles of Scilly and lost. The middle boat shows the tiller over the side and crew hoisting the mizzen sail. On the right is 17PZ 'Agememnon'. 42ft long. 16.5 tons. Owner & Skipper Joseph Trewavas V.C. of Mousehole from 1872 to 1898, then sold to Lowestoft. The 'Agememnon' was named for 'HMS Agememnon' which he served on.
