Item: St Levan's Oratory, St Levan, Cornwall.
Description: A photograph of the stone remains of St Levan's chapel with an unidentified man stood on what are presumably the remaining stones of one of the walls. According to 'Ancient and Holy Wells of Cornwall, by Mabel and Lilian Quiller-Couch 1894: "At Porthschapel Point is a glen a few steps from St Levan's well was the place St Levan chose for his hermitage. He survived on a fish a day but when he tried to catch more fish to feed his sister and her child, not only did he fail but the child choked on the fish he manage to catch. From that time, it has been called chuck chedd or choked child.
