Item: St John's Holy Well, Morwenstow, Cornwall.
Description: In the grounds of the historic vicarage in Morwenstow, stands a medieval well house protecting an ancient holy well dedicated to St John. Water from the holy well has been used for baptisms in the nearby church of St Morwenna and St John for centuries. The well head is rectangular with a steeply pitched stone roof. Under the gable is a low wooded doorway and over the gable a stone cross. The door is 19th century but the well head structure, much older. Source: David Ross (Internet).
