Item: Perranporth, Cornwall.
Description: A view of Perranporth bay, and Droskyn Castle Hotel on the cliff and steps leading to it. Originally built on the site of a monastery, the 45 bedroom hotel has now been redeveloped into flats. Miners' Seining Company used this inlet as a harbour for their fishing boats until the pilchard fishing industry declined in the 1870s. At one time there was a natural bridge between the higher rocks, until it fell in about 1913.
