Item: Stores and Old Reservoir, Penzance.
Description: This image is of the Stores and Old Reservoir, since demolished to enlarge the Cattle Market at the top of Causeway Head, Penzance, with a couple of motor vehicles outside and a man on a bike. The reservoir had a capacity of 11,331 gallons and may have been in use until 1932 when the Cattle Market enlargement took place. A new reservoir at Boscathnoe, Madron, opened in 1860 and the Drift Dam reservoir was built outside of Penzance in 1959-61.
