Item: Porthleven Harbour, Cornwall.
Description: A view of Porthleven Harbour from the Breage side towards the boat building yard. In view, from left to right: the warehouse, three boats under construction, a schooner, the lime kiln, St Bartholomew's Church (built in 1842), the slipway, PZ482 "Idea" and the Methodist Church (built in 1883), an extravagant example of Victorian chapel architecture. A coasting vessel is in the foreground. About 50 fishing boats, laid up many without spars, are also in view, nearly all small pilchard boats. Three large boats are under construction or repair in the shipyard.
