Item: Tremethick Cross, Rose-an-Beagle, Paul, Cornwall.
Description: A photograph showing Tremethick Cross on an angle, and the open countryside around with two men in white coats and bowler hats (one laying on the ground) looking on. This Latin Cross was discovered at Rose-an-Beagle in the parish of Paul and was moved to its present position on the St Just road at the entrance to Tregaverah Lane in the mid 19th century. The cross is set up on its original base, but a few years ago it was struck by a large lorry travelling to St Just and broken into three pieces. It was recovered from the field by members of Madron Old Cornwall Society and eventually restored with metal rods by Adrian Thomas, stonemason of St Just.
