Item: M V Bowline in Holman's Dry dock in 1971
Description: This picture was taken from near the dock entrance looking towards Abbey Slip. The Bowline looks clean and freshly painted, ready to leave! She was built in 1953 by N V Bodewes Schps-Martenshoek. She was registered in Cardiff being 179' long, 29' 2" wide. The depth of her hold was 12' 9.75". She was owned by British Dredging (Shipping) Ltd. and was a Sand Suction Dredger. She was probably employed recovering sand from the seabed for the construction industry.
