Item: The Karen on Newlyn Slip
Description: The trawler entering harbour could be Belgian. The Karen PZ193, was a Sputnik Trawler Karen A416 bought by Stevenson's of Newlyn. She was sold to a Grimsby registration in 1985. She was built in Berwick in 1960, one of four such boats bought by Stevenson's which were probably the first steel vessels to work from Newlyn. The others were ABS PZ253 Bervie Braes, ABS PZ263; Sara Shaun PZ123 which was refitted for beaming.
