Item: The Simms Barton Lantern Cross on St Michael's Mount
Description: The Simms Barton Lantern Cross on St Michael's Mount - the height is 3.995 m (13'1"); Simms Barton is a farm near Redruth. The cross was removed to St Michael's Mount by Sir Edward St Aubyn who bought it from the Reverend H M St Aubyn, Rector of St Euny, Redruth between 1821 and 1833. It stands on a tall modern granite shaft and has been embellished with an elaborate pinnacle formed with a type of brown plaster and copper armature.
