Identification
Item: Boskenna Stone Cross
Description: Boskenna stone cross - height 2.05 m (6' 10"); height of cross .65 m (2' 4"); width of head .50 m (1' 8"); width of shaft .31 m (12.5"). The cross is mounted on a stone roller, millstone and cider press. The front of the Latin cross head bears a Christ or child figure carved in relief. The rear shows a wheel-cross formed by four triangular incisions. The cross was found buried in a hedge and was re-mounted possibly in its original position, on a triangular piece of grass near the Merry Maidens.
