Description: O/S SW 447382 The remains of the Chapel have been dated to around the 12th century but the lower courses are probably pre-Norman. Standing in a wooded glade, it is a tiny roofless building with walls .76 metres (2.5') thick and 1.83 metres (6') high with internal dimensions of approximately 6.4 metres x 3.35 metres (21' by 11') with a doorway in the north wall. Inside are stone side benches, a rough chancel step and an altar slab with a square recess to receive a portable altar. A tiny rivulet enters the building through the south wall, collecting in a small rectangular, corbelled reservoir before flowing out across the floor of the chapel in a stone lined channel then out through the north wall. The reservoir has been mistaken for the holy well. It is wrongly referred to as a baptistery.
