Item: Fishermen working their nets at Newlyn
Description: In 2011 the site of Rosebud Court, here fishermen are working their nets on the road from Newlyn to Mousehole. The chimney stack of the abandoned West Tolvaddon Mine stands on the tip of Carn Gwavas. This photo was taken before Gwavas Quarry was in significant production as there is no accumulation of waste rock and overburden along the foreshore. However, there does appear to be some tipping between Stone's Cottage and Pembroke Lodge on the right, about where the present slipway gives access to the 'quarry plot.'
