Item: The rescue of the crew of the Warspite
Description: On 23 April 1947 the Warspite grounded in Mounts bay on its final voyage to the scrapyard. The flood tide meant it grounded at Prussia Cove. Captain Baxter and the eight towing crew were rescued by the Penlee Lifeboat, William and Sarah, coxed by Eddie Madron.
