Item: Penzance Public Building
Description: In 1853 Penzance Borough Council proposed to erect, on land known as the Glebe, a new Public Building. The architect was John Matthews, Borough Surveyor. The contractors were Messrs Oliver and Sons of Falmouth. In October 2011 the building, affectionately known as St John's Hall, is having a facelift. In 2014 it is being renovated.
