Item: Photograph of a painting of the temporary Church, Penalverne, Penzance
Description: The last sermon was preached on 29 July 1832 in the old chapel of St. Mary and the foundation stone for the new Chapel was laid on 17 August 1832, 19 days later. For the next four years services were held in this temporary church erected on glebe land at Alverton, where St. John's Hall stands today.
