Description: The Opening of Penzance Railway Station on 25 August 1852 when the West Cornwall Railway Company opened the line from Penzance to Truro. The passenger service, on narrow gauge, had been started on 11 March 1852. From left to right : St Mary's Church tower; goods shed; engine shed; Market House; Eastern Promenade; Chyandour Nursing Home; Briton's Hill. The wall of the Eastern Promenade is lined with spectators.
