Identification
Item: A group of soldiers 1943
Description: A postcard showing a group of soldiers. A purple triangular stamp on the reverse side states 'Gepruft Oflag III C'. A second purple rectangular stamp states 'Die Aushandigung des Fotos an Kr. Gef. ist genehmigt. M-Stammlager XXA'. The postcard is addressed to 'Mrs E.M. Pope, Heamoor, 80 Main Street, Cornwall, England' and in the same writing is written 'Sgt. G. Pope 1084. Oflag. III C, Germany', indicating he is in the picture, and is likely to be the husband of Mrs E.M Pope, who had been a nurse at West Cornwall hospital before the war. It has a stamp date 13.1.43 - 11
Condition: Good - slight surface grime to the reverse and a small crease to a couple of the corners
