Item: Penlee Stone Quarries, c.1920
Description: The Newlyn to Mousehole road is on the right of the extensive plot of new land along the sandy cove foreshore made from quarry waste. The waste was transported by an aerial cable and bucket system suspended from the pylons on the left. Note the realigned track of the quarry light railway which originally had followed the curve of the cliff. Cliff Cottage and Cliff Castle lie in the middle distance with Pembroke Lodge upper right.
