Item: Penzance from Newlyn
Description: This is a colour tinted image looking from Tolcarne towards Penzance showing St. Mary's Church, the promenade and New Road built in 1882. The Passmore Edwards Art Gallery was built in 1895. The houses in the foreground were in an area known as Parc Sandre and were built after 1900 and before 1912 when the nursing home middle left was built. The mill used water from the stream at Wherrytown and the Serpentine Works lies opposite.
