Item: The Amcotts of Port Harcourt is towed into St Ives harbour, 1956.
Description: The pusher tug Amcotts 253 GRT on a delivery voyage from Liverpool to Nigeria, struck rocks between Zennor Head and Clodgy Point in dense fog. The yacht Shrimp took off 6 of the 10 crew. The St Ives lifeboat, Edgar George Orlando & Eva Child, towed the Amcotts into St Ives. Pictured to the left is the pilot boat Ada.
