Description: The lettering DZ ? 484 identifies the buoy as coming from Douarnerez in Britanny. The faded lettering at the top could read ARMOR or ARMORIOU which is Breton for of the sea. There were several appropriate names of boats in the 1950s, ar Mor; Kanouen ar Mor; Intron Varia ar More; Reder ar Mor; Rouanez ar Mor, etc.
