Item: Frogmen find the wreck of the 1807 frigate Anson off Loe Bar, Porthleven
Description: Frogman Bob Lewis located the Anson 35' down, finding 20 cannon with cannon balls. With diver Clifford Williams, he found a bronze bar weighing about 30lbs. Frank Richards, skipper of the Rona, used the 2-way radio beacon to pinpoint the wreck. He had worked with the 1923 salvage team. It was hoped to put the gold bar found on that day on display in Helston Folk Museum.
