Item: Cutting broccoli
Description: Six men cutting broccoli at Trevean, farmed by Mr Jim Matthews. Three of the men have baskets on their backs. St. Michael's Mount is in the background. Broccoli would be sent to market in the baskets. Once the field had been harvested by hand two or three times, a horse and cart could be used to help with the rest of the harvest. This field was known formerly as the Bowling Green.
