Description: This photograph was taken on the forecourt of St John's Hall, Penzance, of Lord Lieutenant Sir Edward Bolitho, inspecting the police parade following the presentation of the British Empire Medal to Police Constable 317 Godfrey Matthews. From Left to Right: Mayor of Penzance, Mr J.S. Stephens; Chairman of St Just Council, W.T. Warren; Inspector C.H. Brown; Lord Lieutenant Sir Edward Bolitho; Constable 327 Samuel George Matthews and Constable 258 Ronald Botheras. Senior Officers and 44 constables and 12 sergeants came from many parts of Cornwall to attend this voluntary parade for the presentation.
