Item: Seagulls following the horse drawn plough driven by Mr Dennis Stone.
Description: Dennis Stone worked for Fred Jelbert, a market gardener in Gulval at Parc Clies Farm. In this photograph, he is driving the horse drawn plough followed by a flock of seagulls which suggests that he is ploughing under seaweed in the winter, probably for early potatoes. The plough is a Ransomes Semi Digger which was popular in the Gulval area because of the good depth of soil. . The fields ran from what is now the Tesco garage on the right hand side of the road, through the barn club car park, up to Gulval Village.
