Item: Spanish steamer "Mina Contiquin" wrecked at Lowland Point, Coverack on 4 November 1951
Description: The Mini Cantiquin was a 662 ton boat on its way from Newcastle to Gijon with a cargo of pitch when it struck a rock off Chynhalls Point, Coverack in a south-westerly gale. She drifted across onto Lowlands Point. The crew of 17 were rescued by the local lifeboat. Dog Pedro remained aboard and was lost.
