Item: A Demi-Culverin Cannon outside of Penzance Public Library, Penzance.
Description: The cannon outside of Penzance Library, Morrab Road, Penzance from 1953 until it was stolen in the 1900s. A medium cannon, developed in the late 16th century. Barrels were typically about 11ft long and a had a calibre of 4in with top rings shaped like dolphins. It could weigh up to 3400 lbs (1500kg). Source: Wikipedia.
