Description: In the 1920s Dod Procter was perhaps the most famous artist in Britain. Paintings of the female form of all ages defined her life's work and were and are controversial. She studied at the Forbes School of Painting in Newlyn after which she and husband Ernest Procter worked in Burma before returning to Newlyn. She travelled widely after his death in 1935. She died in Newlyn in 1972.
