Description: A carte de visite of an unknown man, most likely from Whitby, and perhaps a friend of the Branwell family, who lived at Penlee House. Likely to be related to the unknown woman from PEXPH : 1998.207.34. Below is written 'Frank M. Sutcliffe Whitby'. On the reverse is printed the emblem of the photographer - ' Photographer to Mr Ruskin (Patron?) Sutcliffe Whitby The Prize Medals of Swan Newcastle 1881 Photographic Assocn of Great Britain London 1882 Falmouth 1882 and Dundee 1882.
Condition: Good - slight damage to cardboard on top of reverse side, slight foxing to top of photograph.
