Item: Janner's Engine, Penlee Quarry
Description: 'Janner's Engine', the steam loco and tipping wagons used on the narrow gauge railway running between Penlee Quarry and the South Pier at Newlyn Harbour. Invariably, the driver wore a bowler hat. The gentleman in the picture is Mr Jenner who was one of the old school of locomen who took great pride in their machines. He died two years after this engine was withdrawn.
