Item: A threshing machine in action
Description: A team is harvesting the crop using a threshing machine operated by a traction engine. A team of about 16 would be needed and this would consist of labour from neighbouring farms and a travelling team of harvesters. Thus there would usually be one specialist for each task, ie rick building, rick thatching, pitching, etc. Whichever farm they worked on provided refreshment throughout the day.
