Identification
Item: The launching of SS Casablanca at St Ives
Description: The Casablanca, a herring drifter, was built in 1883/4 on the beach at St Ives by William Robert Williams, and the pennant shows that this is the launching ceremony. E Ashton photographed the launch of the Silvery Light here in 1884 so this is likely to be his picture and this could be the ship on the right.
