Item: Diving boat and Diver, Penzance Harbour
Description: Diving boat at Penzance dock gate. The seated diver, in diving helmet and suit has four men to assist him. The boat is fitted with a derrick and winch. The air line goes from the diver to the air pump in the hold of the boat. The ladder is fastened to the side of the boat. A steam coaster and Lowestoft drifter are moored in the inner harbour. A dock gate was knocked off its hinges in the blizzard of March 1891.
